Going over to someone's house for dinner? How about giving them a sign instead of that bottle of wine?
Someone letting you borrow their ski-house for the weekend? This would be a terrific thank you.
Need a stocking stuffer for someone and want to give them something they will keep forever? A Trail Sign would be perfect! Link

It is no secret that we love vintage signs here at Signs Never Sleep, and we have admired the signs made by Mummert Sign Company for years. We just discovered that Cottage Living Magazine did a profile of the owner, Marty Mummert, and we thought we would share it with you here.
"Each Mummert sign "starts right out of my head with a sketch," Marty says. "It has to have a certain look and balance, and the colors are so important. It just has to knock you over." Marty carefully considers the wording of each object, running through scores of possibilities before choosing such names as "Blackbat Licorice" or "Bomber Bread." (quoted from a Cottage Living article) Link
Liquid Language owner, Janey Buttler Saavedra has had a keen interest in lettering since she was a young girl. This early fascination with "letterform" was the beginning of what has become an exciting career.
Janey's spent several years in Europe studying European signage and historical manuscripts. She went on to study sign painting techniques at Los Angeles Trade Tech and continued with Visual Communications and Calligraphic Arts at Cerritos College. Her skills and formal education prepared her for a career working for Disney, where she specialized in lettering design.
Her own studio, Liquid Language specializes in lettering arts and whimsical illustrations. Located in Southern California, Janey's client list includes such big names as Walt Disney Imagineering, Beringer Vineyards, E.J. Gallo Winery and Trader Joe's. Janey is also currently expanding into Licensing and non-commercial calligraphic commissions.
What started as a childhood fascination, has now become a creative and fulfilling career. Visit the Liquid Language website for more info. LINK

"Quality Signage is not an expense, it's an investment in your future.", this is the philosophy of Len Mort, owner of Signmaker1.com. His business was established in 1957 based on this vision of incorporating quality, craftsmanship and service.
Not only is Len a Master Sign writer, he is an avid Harley collector and restorer of antiques, specializing in gas pumps. He learned his trade from his friends and master sign writers Russell Miller and Edmund McLeod and began as a pinstriper. Located in Millbury, Massachusetts, Signmaker1.com has work that can be seen throughout New England, California and even Aruba and Switzerland!
His signs are terrific, but restoration is where his heart is! Check out some of his work below. What started as a hobby, grew into its own business. He has collected all sorts of gas station memorabilia and has clients near and far that he does restoration for. Len has a real love of nostalgia that has even taken over his home.
Signmaker1.com offers custom design, fabrication, and installation of carved, lighted and wood signage, as well as vehicle lettering. LINK

A recent trip to Boston with my
kids 6th grade field trip allowed me the chance to take some pictures.
I am calling this "Signs of Boston", but more accurately, it could be
called "The Signs of Faneuil Hall and an occasional sign in another
location whenever the tour group would pause long enough to actually
let me get a photo". Those sixth graders move quick!
