This ski sign contest is being shown on Yankee Magazine's New England Ski and Outdoor Adventure Blog. I just want to take a moment to welcome all of those Yankee Magazine readers, and say that they are more than welcome to look around our blog, and make themselves feel right at home!
So here is your chance to get your very own, FREE, carved sign for your home. In fact, I want to give you the chance for both you, and a friend, to win one of these signs. This is a sign that measures 8" x 15". The lettering is v-carved and painted (the name will be customized for you, of course). The sign you can win will be very similar to the sign above, but it might vary slightly. We will retain artistic control over the sign you will receive.
The give away is going to work like this:
Anyone will be free to leave a comment on this post until Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. You can comment as many times as you want (which allows you to have as many entries into the contest as you wish). When you comment, let us know your first name, and give us the name of a friend of yours, who will become your "Free Sign Buddy" (I'll explain the "Buddy" thing in a minute). As you enter a comment, the order in which your comment falls will become your entry number, and used to determine if you win the contest. The first comment will be #1, the second comment that lists on the page will be #2, and so on...
After 1-15-08 at 5pm, I will select a number at random, and that will determine the winner of the contest.
Now, after the winner is selected, we will contact you via email. If you listed a "sign buddy" in your comment, AND, if your sign buddy posted a comment anytime during the contest, they will win a sign as well. So, when you comment, email your "sign buddy" right away, tell them about the contest, and have them enter. (NOTE: You do NOT need to have a "sign buddy" to win)
Now, to clarify this a bit. You can enter as many times as you want, and you can name a different "sign buddy" every time, but only the "buddy" named in your WINNING comment will get a free sign, and, your buddy needs to have commented on the contest at least once.
By commenting on this post you agree to the terms and rules of this give-away (read here) and, should you be selected as a winner, consent to letting me use your name when I announce the winners. Anonymous comments and comments without a valid email address will be disqualified.

Your wonderful sign would be a fantastic focal point on our new Post and Beam barn down here in Rhode Island (yes we do have one ski area :)) My friend Joanne would love the sign and could place it on her soon to evolve P& B barn as well!
